what is affordable to them. Therefore we have a quarter carat
coverage at just $1,000. or less, a half carat just $2,000
or less, a three-quarter carat at $3,000 or under and a full
carat at$3,265. and above with lots of choices in-between!
Don't settle for an amateur or someone trying to be a professional
without training. Our prices compare truthfully to national
standards.
Choosing an Image Maker for your wedding day
is a very important decision. One thing to look for is the
composition of the Image or the posing along with the blocking
or lighting of the subject. Wedding Photographers must be
able to relate to the moment! Not all Image Makers can get
into the mood of creation. Many follow the norm or a list
and cannot see to create an Image that they have not seen
before. How many times have you seen the ring bearer or flower
girl take a sneaky lick of the wedding cake and the professional
photographer is out doing something not related to the wedding!
In other words, not paying attention. Today the factor of
price is so important as we all are looking for the best possible
value. However, cutting cost is not always the best way. In
choosing a photographer, you are paying for ability, quality
of prints and finally service. All Professional manufactures
now mark the back of their paper such as: Kodak Professional
Paper. Kodak Gold, etc. is not professional.
Because we want the advantage of sharper, cleaner,
clearer prints, we prefer a 6x7 format. A 35 mm is used only
for special reasons.
All our work is done under the utmost care
and we not only make all the prints, but also develop the
film or negatives. Albums are all composed here with a choice
of traditional or free flowing style. In most cases, the bride
and groom allow us to compose the album, choosing the photos,
sizes and layout; therefore working as a photographic artist.
However, you may choose to make the selections and design
the pages.
As a Candid Wedding Photographer, our candids
or casuals are entirely created with existing props and backgrounds
with portable equipment and lighting radio controlled from
our medium format cameras. Numerous photos are exposed under
existing lighting conditions. We are photographing for mood,
romance literally through the Bride's tearful eye. All posed
photographs are copyright Images and at no time do we permit
video or family or guests to photograph these Images. This
is a strict ruling set forth by true Wedding Photographers
All packages are based on time, quality and
quantity of photographs and quality of album. You may choose
from our pre-made packages or design your own. Please visit
our Studio to discuss these options. In choosing a Wedding
Photographer, it is best to meet him that you may feel comfortable
and enjoy the day!!
My background..........
At the age of five, I wanted to be a Photographer.
By high school, I had won Picture of the Week on a national
magazine's back cover and lots of other contests. At age sixteen,
I did my first wedding, riding in the bride's car and taking
a taxi back home. In 1957, I did one of the first weddings
in color in the United States of America! Yes, 1957!! After
service in 1962, I began as a stringer for other studios on
weekends doing weddings. I worked as a Commercial and Public
Relations Photographer during the week along with being a
lab technician. I found I was good, as I received two and
some times three times as many jobs as the other photographers
in any one studio's stable of wedding photographers. Yes,
we carried 4x5 press cameras.....a lot of work. In 1965, I
got married and opened my own studio in Edinburgh, New Jersey.
I began doing weddings on my own, 27 the first year - all
in color. I also bid for a high school yearbook contract to
do the Senior Portraits. I changed senior portraits that first
year to color. Kodak says I'm one of the first. The following
year, I changed the look of the seniors again to casual, 3/4
and full length. At the same time I began to drastically change
the wedding images to a more up to the time Image. In 1969,
I did 78 weddings, booking them over the phone and not seeing
any brides till two weeks before the wedding. I worked so
hard and changed so many things that we have today. I began
to teach and expand working in Hunderton Co, and Princeton,
just outside of Trenton, New Jersey.
Divorced in 1988, I began studying the Bible
until meeting Nancy L. Boyer in 1990, when we opened an Art
Gallery, Photo Studio and next thing we bought a home high
on the top of the mountain and called it "From a Distance
Farm". Here we put in a large Professional Photographic lab,
did art shows of my Photographic Art Decor, and Art of other
artists, framing and the whole nine yards. We did a few weddings
and I got turned off. Drinking was more important than the
wedding, family, etc. as evidently, the bride did not want
photography. What was I doing here?
September of 1996, I picked up a wedding book
with ads of local wedding photographers. I was too late to
place an ad in it but, looking through the book, I began to
see the wrongs, the unskilled and the need to lead the way
and change the Imagery in Northeast Pennsylvania in the Photography
field. Then it happened. I got asked to do a wedding! It was
the third time for the bride. She knew what she wanted and
after looking at so many others said, "You do it!" It felt
good again!
Recently, I interviewed over 70 so-called Wedding
Photographers in the area. Now, I am sure why I am again doing
weddings and encouraging those who truly care to work with
me, study with me, and bring to the wedding party their creative
best and true professionalism in Photography for eternity!
Questions to ask a Wedding
Photographer!
1. Has the Photographer photographed many weddings?
I, jim Morgan, have done over 2,500!
2. Does the Photographer carry more than one
camera?
I carry three or more.
3. What film size is used? 35mm 120 or 4x5 I
use 120/220.
Note: 35mm in the hands of a skilled Pro can do an adequate
job. Numerous others, so-called Professionals, will use this
size film to try and save money, but do not use a Professional
Lab, and they lack skill to use this format camera. Also,
Professional Labs charge 50-100% more for the printing.
4. Lighting. Does the Photographer carry more
than one light?
I'm carrying two or more lights linked by radio control.
5. Are the prints printed on Professional Paper?
Look on the back of the print and it should read Professional.
I use nothing but Professional Kodak paper.
6. Are the prints made in-house or lab of the
Photographer?
I have the largest Professional Lab in Northeastern PA.
7. Is a stabilizer used in the lab? This adds
longevity to the prints.
I insist on this!
8. Will the Photographer guarantee quality and
the life of the Wedding Prints?
Mine are guaranteed for a lifetime!
9. Is the Photographer known in the field and
been awarded for their Wedding Photographs? I hold a Masters
& Qualified Wedding Photography degrees, along with color
and black & white lab; I am nationally known!
10. Is the Photographer engaged full time in
this business?
I make all my living from Photography - Portraits, children,
pets, weddings, high school seniors, modeling, boudoir, fantasy,
lab work, framing and Fine Art.
11. Are the Associates continually studying
and being critiqued?
I no longer have or use associates. Only a person who works
for me full time would be permitted. I prefer to do the Image
taking myself at this time.
